The history of Yamaha's racing motorcycles concentrated in a museum. With the opening of the private collection "Moto Poggi COMP", motorcycling enthusiasts can see the evolution of the Japanese company's racing bikes.

Opened in Villanova di Castenaso, in the province of Bologna, the exhibition includes vehicles such as the 1959 YDS-1R, many examples of the famous "TZ" and the two-stroke YZR 500.

The 15-time world champion Giacomo Agostini, the MotoGP rider of the Monster Yamaha Tech3 team and 125 World Champion Andrea Dovizioso, the 2-time 250 world champion Carlos Lavado, the 3-time world champion Luca Cadalora, the 3-time champion of the World Eugenio Lazzarini and the Italian driver Loris Reggiani.

Among the more than 60 vintage specimens on display there are also real collectible memorabilia such as, for example, a Yamaha YDS1R from 1959, a series of Yamaha TZs of different displacements (250, 350, 500 and 750) belonging to various eras and made by Yamaha to give private riders the opportunity to be competitive in the various national and world championships.

The initiative, curated by the collector Pierluigi Poggi, took the originality of the bikes very much into consideration. All are "preserved" or restored correctly.

For the exceptional occasion, Yamaha Factory Racing has set up a special exhibition of official Grand Prix motorcycles, bringing 6 examples of modern competition Yamaha (MotoGP and 500 two-stroke).

Among the bikes on display there are also the M1s of Valentino Rossi (with the 2004 and 2005 versions) and that of Jorge Lorenzo (world champion with Yamaha in the MotoGP class in 2010), the current YZR-M1 2012 of Andrea Dovizioso Garry McCoy's two-stroke Yamaha YZR 500 and Norifumi Abe's.
