The motorcycle museum is one of the most important and extensive two-wheeler collections in Europe. The technical development of the motorcycle from 1885 to the present day is impressively presented on an exhibition area of 1200 m² with 175 exhibits. The museum display of the historical development of the Zschopau motorcycle companies DKW, Auto Union and MZ is unique worldwide.

Special highlights are motor sport stagings with historical films, a sound simulator and numerous prototypes and unique pieces of historical vehicle technology. Every year in January, August and October 3, biker and vintage car meetings take place, transforming Augustusburg Castle into an “open-air museum” and attracting fans from all over Europe.

Special exhibits from the 175 vehicles exhibited in the motorcycle museum - starting with the balance bike - are the focus of the tour. The development of international and regional motorcycle companies is outlined and the historical background is explained. In our "racing arena" you can immerse yourself in the fascinating world of sport and racing history.
